IRON GIRL PROJECT

The Iron Girl Project “IGP” honors the enduring memory of Alexea "Lex" Karpinski by empowering New Jersey high school student-athletes through the Alexea G. Karpinski Memorial Scholarship.

We inspire young athletes to cultivate a legacy of positive influence within their teams, families, and communities. By recognizing individuals who embody Lex’s defining characteristics—grit, tenacity, and humility—we reward leaders who champion excellence and compassion both in academics and athletics. Our mission is to support those dedicated to elevating themselves and others every single day. And, to make Lex proud of everything we do.

Our Iron Girl

From early childhood, Lex’s vibrant spirit was defined by her passion for athletics, leadership, and service. As a dedicated goalie in field hockey and lacrosse, she anchored her teams with the same determination she brought to every area of her life.

Beyond the field, Lex was a committed Girl Scout and an active force for good in her community, volunteering her time with America’s Grow-a-Row, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, and the Connect Club. Guided by a deep love for her family, friends, and fitness, she poured energy and joy into everything she did. Though her time was tragically cut short at 17, Lex’s profound impact endures in the countless lives she touched—and she remains deeply missed every day by her family, friends, teammates, and her beloved dog, Baxter.
